African Banner

I have always been attracted to the banner shaped quilt...there is just something pleasing about the proportions of a banner to me...not to mention, I love having something to hang on a door!
The fabrics in this quilt are African batik (the turquoise salamanders), hand printed African blends (the purple and metallic gold fabric of the inner border and the metallic gold centers of the primary blocks), and American printed cottons.
This banner is heavily machine quilted.
