"Monday is egg money day for Nan"

This evocative photo of a young child (whom I've christened Nan) shows a daily chore for many children during Great Depression era in America. Washing eggs to get ready to sell to add to mother's egg money tin. Nan has been layered with distressed and stained paper atop vintage fabrics and mattress ticking (I love that yellow feed bag sack with roosters printed on it!). The piece has been embellished with various vintage trims, crochet work, fibers, rusted findings, and fine vintage bridal veil detail.
